This is a rich treat for lovers of Brahms – a clutch of great works, each rich in ideas, melodies, and those heart-stopping moments, at once mellow, plangent and deeply intense. Hebrides Ensemble have proven themselves excellent interpreters of this music, and they are joined for this concert by the wonderful pianist, Llyr Williams. Brahms often concealed codes and secret message in his music – a habit he may well have caught from Robert Schumann.

Artistic Director, Svend Brown, will introduce the concert briefly to seek out the cryptic clues and suggest what they might have meant.
