The Auld Alliance: Scotland and France have always made perfect partners, in music as well as politics. And with Claude Debussy celebrating his 150th birthday, what better way for Stéphane Denève to begin his final Season as RSNO Music Director than with Debussy’s own playful tribute to a Scottish pipe tune before sweeping the full RSNO through his gorgeous sea-symphony La mer? Add star violinist Nicola Benedetti for Bruch’s irresistible Scottish Fantasy, plus a special piping welcome from the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland, and it’s a night to remember!
