Martyn Brabbins, former Associate Principal Conductor of the BBC SSO, helps presenter Stephen Johnson unravel one of the finest character studies in music, Elgar’s Falstaff. Completed in 1913, after more than ten years work, it runs roughly parallel with the composition of the composer’s Second Symphony.
