City Halls : Grand Hall

Please Note: This is a past event event.

Don't worry we have plenty more current events to choose from.

Brahms’s first piano concerto began its life as sketches for a work that nearly became the composer’s first symphony. It then became a sonata for two pianos and, ultimately, the concerto we know today. Andrew Manze, the BBC SSO’s recently appointed Associate Guest Conductor, and a great devotee of the music of Brahms, joins pianist Ronald Brautigam and the orchestra for this detailed exploration of the work.

Part of the BBC SSO’s Romantic Unbound series.
