The Scottish Ensemble, in partnership with Glasgow’s Concert Halls, are hosting a choral workshop for community and church choirs with James MacMillan and choral director, Mark Hindley.
The workshop will focus on James’ work and is linked to the Scottish Ensemble performance of Seven Last Words from the Cross on Friday 2nd April in the City Halls.
Seven Last Words is one of three works commissioned for the Scottish Ensemble, who, on the 2nd April, join forces with the chamber choir, Tenebrae, and music theatre company, Cryptic, to celebrate James MacMillan’s 50th birthday. Originally commissioned by the BBC for the Scottish Ensemble, MacMillan’s epic Seven Last Words from the Cross is one of his most masterful works. It will be complemented in the concert by John Tavener’s spellbinding Tears of the Angels and a new work by Nigel Osborne, Seven Words, Seven Icons, Seven Cities.
Your ticket for this workshop includes entry to the Scottish Ensemble’s concert on Friday 2nd April. Please call the box office on 0141 353 8000 and quote “Workshop”to book tickets.
