BBC SSO Listen Here! The Summer of Love

City Halls : Grand Hall

Please Note: This is a past event event.

Don't worry we have plenty more current events to choose from.

Romance is in the air as the BBC SSO performs some of the best love music ever written.

Mendelssohn’s Wedding March, Puccini’s La Rondine and the glowering Montagues and Capulets from Prokofiev’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ (the theme to BBC 1’s ‘The Apprentice’) compete with songs from West Side Story, The King and I and Love Story for your collective affections.

The gorgeous voice of soprano Pamela Hay soars over the orchestra, and BBC Radio Scotland’s ‘King of Romance’ Jamie MacDougall lends his glorious tones and witty brand of repartee to this passionate affair. Bring your significant other… and bring a hanky. There won’t be a dry eye in the house.
