In this opening concert of the 2010-11 season, the Scottish Ensemble welcomes world famous cellist Pieter Wispelwey, playing Vivaldi’s B minor Cello Concerto and a new work by the veteran Finnish composer, Aulis Sallinen.

Chamber Music VIII was commissioned by the Ensemble together with Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Wurtemburg Chamber Orchestra and Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
