Stewart Forbes’s saxophone sound has been in demand for over 30 years within the SNJO, RSNO, BBCSSO and BBC Big Band, performing with Tony Bennett, Natalie Cole, Randy Crawford, Billy May, George Shearing, James Moody, Clark Terry, Kenny Wheeler, Carla Bley and Scotland’s Tommy Sampson.
Releasing his debut album tonight, that unique alto saxophone sound is presented ‘back to back’ with fellow album collaborator and pianist David Newton as well as Brian Shiels on bass and Alyn Cosker on drums, in an exciting jazz quartet setting, that features these mature stylists on the top of their form.
