The Graeme Stephen Sextet features some of the most creative and in-demand musicians on the British folk, classical and jazz scenes. The music draws on these influences creating an eclectic mix of styles.

This performance, part of their Tune Up tour, will include the suite Vantage Points inspired by locations throughout Scotland.

The group comprises: Graeme Stephen (guitar), Ben Davis – of Mercury nominees Basquiat Strings – (cello), Chris Stout (violin), Fraser Fifield (soprano sax/kaval), Martin Kershaw (alto sax), Mario Caribe (bass), and Scottish Jazz Awards Drummer of the Year 2009, Stuart Ritchie.

Described as one of the most creative musicians in the UK, Graeme has won various awards including the Jazz Services Promoters’ Choice Award and was chosen for the Serious/PRS Take 5 initiative in 2008.

Guitarist Graeme Stephen has emerged as one the Scottish jazz scene’s most capable, exportable and distinctive talents. His sextet is a beacon of original, ambitious and brilliantly realised music. (The Herald)
