Ray Davies is one of the most influential songwriters to emerge from the British music scene, having been the lead singer, chief songwriter and rhythm guitarist of the Kinks.

Affectionately referred to as the “Godfather of Brit Pop”, Ray Davies is cited as a major influence on artists such as Pete Townshend of The Who, Paul Weller, Morrisey, Damon Albarn of Blur and many more.

Ray Davies’ songs have become hits for bands including The Jam, Van Halen, The Pretenders and The Stranglers. He has composed rock operas, directed films for Channel 4 and was awarded the CBE at the beginning of 2004.

This is an unmissable chance to hear the inspiration behind the most legendary rock groups of the 1960s, performing songs both new and old.
