BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra: Discovering Music, Schumann at 200

City Halls : Grand Hall

Don't worry we have plenty more current events to choose from.

Continuing Robert Schumann’s 200th birthday celebrations, the BBC SSO unravels two of the composer’s rarely heard works for violin and orchestra: the Violin Concerto, a piece all but forgotten until the early 20th century, and the bravura showcase that is the Fantasy. These fiendishly difficult works are brought vividly to life by two soloists, the acclaimed young English violinist Matthew Trusler, and the BBC SSO’s distinguished leader, Elizabeth Layton.
