RSNO - The 09:10 Season: Britten's War Requiem

Glasgow Royal Concert Hall : Main Auditorium

Please Note: This is a past event event.

Don't worry we have plenty more current events to choose from.

Live performances of this profound and visceral work, one of the greatest compositions of the last century, are not to be missed. Written for the reconsecration of Coventry Cathedral after the original fourteenth century building was destroyed in a 1940 bombing raid, this large-scale work intersperses Owen’s poetry with sections of the Latin Requiem Mass for the Dead. Stéphane Denève conducts a top-flight cast of soloists, including the world’s finest lyric tenor Ian Bostridge.
