Part of the Merchant City Festival 2009

Battleship Potemkin is recognised as one of the most important films in the history of silent cinema, as well as Sergei Eisenstein’s greatest work. The film’s famous scene on the Odessa Staircase is perhaps the most quoted film sequence in cinema history. Edmund Meisel’s definitive and visceral score, will be performed live at this screening by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
