Jim Carruth is one of Scotland’s most original poets to emerge in recent years and will be launching his book and exhibition Grace Notes 1959. The sequence has been specially commissioned by the Glasgow Jazz Festival and was inspired by his personal response to four ground breaking and influential jazz albums released in 1959 by Ornette Coleman, Charles Mingus, Dave Brubeck and Miles Davis.
He will be reading from and talking about the project with support from pianist Pete Johnstone.
