A Rolls Royce night of straight-ahead, swinging jazz played by two British masters of the idiom.
Pianist David Newton’s urbane playing spans the gamut from delicate and haunting to turbo-charged with lots of subtle shading underneath.
Virtuoso clarinettist and alto saxophonist Alan Barnes plays with spirited good humour and occasionally exquisite romantic delicacy and of course delivers those killer one-liners!
