Featuring The Regimental Band of the Scots Guards and the Pipes and Drums of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards.

A varied and entertaining repertoire awaits this evening’s audience as right from the Concert Band’s opening salutory fanfare and march of dedication, the listener is treated to a veritable two hours feast of the finest Military Band and traditional Pipes music. The first half concludes with The Gael from Last of the Mohicans and the second half begins with the Scots Guards Ceilidh Band. The popular song You Raise Me Up and the Hollywood blockbuster Band of Brothers follow thereafter before the Pipes and Drums take to the concert platform for the second time.

The concert programme draws to a close with a spectacular new arrangement and first airing of Amazing Grace and Wagner’s Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral. Ending the evening in traditional manner with the Evening Hymn Abide With Me and the Last Post, Piper’s Lament and Regimental March, all combined to create a unique concert of dedication, stirring tribute and glorious celebration.

This concert is in aid of the Colonel’s Fund which enables the Regiment to provide:

Support to the families of those killed in action by responding promptly to problems of bereavement and hardship.

Support to those wounded on operations, particularly those who have had to leave the Army; to assist in finding them new employment, and to help them become active family and community members.

Support to the families of those seriously wounded or injured in prolonged recovery situations.
