“As the festive season draws to a close, there are few things better than Handel’s Messiah to round it off.” (Katie Grant Sunday Times)

The trumpet shall sound! Begin the New Year with the annual Glasgow afternoon performance of Handel’s timeless masterpiece, Messiah, conducted by Nicholas McGegan. Including some of the best choruses, arias and duets ever written: Ev’ry Valley, Glory to God, Unto Us a Child is Born, He Shall Feed His Flock, The Trumpet Shall Sound, Hallelujah Chorus, Worthy is the Lamb,

I Know That My Redeemer Liveth.

Nicholas McGegan is a oneoff…he has refined the style so that it is suffused with expressive warmth… McGegan’s Messiah, with the RSNO and its chorus, was another fine and consistent demonstration of the man’s highly sophisticated art. (Michael Tumelty, The Herald)

Nicholas McGegan’s thoughtful approach resulted in a crisply engaging concert…rhythmically incisive and sensitively phrased playing from the orchestra, with an agile string sound complemented by poetic woodwind. (Lynne Walker, The Independent)
