RSNO 11:12 Season Natalie Clein plays Haydn

Don't worry we have plenty more current events to choose from.

Written in wartime Russia, and premiered to the sound of gunfire, Prokofiev’s Fifth is a true twentieth-century epic. Prokofiev said that it celebrated “the greatness of the human spirit” – but it’s also a gripping chronicle of a great nation’s final push to victory. It’s all a long way from Ravel’s silken waltz suite or the playful wit of Haydn’s Cello Concerto, but Danish conductor Thomas Søndergård brings a special electricity to everything he touches.

Pre-concert talk 6.45pm Sophie Lang (RSNO Violin)
