This is Soul brings together the giants of soul music in one sensational show.
Geno Washington and The Ram Jam Band had two of the biggest selling UK albums of the sixties, both of which were live. During this time, US soul acts rarely visited the UK but having come over as a part of the US Air force and stayed, Geno was our soul man. His level of touring and the high energy of his gigs was, and still is the stuff of legends.
Jimmy James brings his own vintage soul and infectious style to this line-up. After achieving success in his native Jamaica, Jimmy came to England and joined the Vagabonds where he guided them into becoming a leading live attraction in the 60’s with an impressive repertoire, including the much covered Red Red Wine.
Completing this soul explosion is PP Arnold whose career first kicked off as a member of the Ikettes, the backing vocalists for Ike and Tina Turner. Over time her soulful vocals have graced classic hits such as Angel of the Morning and First Cut is the Deepest.
