RSNO - The 10:11 Season Great Concertos: Dvorák Cello Concerto

Glasgow Royal Concert Hall : Main Auditorium

Please Note: This is a past event event.

Don't worry we have plenty more current events to choose from.

When Brahms heard Dvorák’s Cello Concerto, he said he wished he’d written one himself. No surprises there: with its passionate Czech melodies and soaring emotions, it’s surely the ultimate cello concerto – and a thrilling challenge for Dutch cellist Pieter Wispelwey, who makes his debut with the RSNO. A chance also to hear two of Brahms’ deeply-moving choral masterpieces – and a dashing overture by his friend Schumann.

Pieter Wispelwey replaces Sol Gabetta, who has withdrawn from this concert due to illness.

Please note change in solist for this performance.
