Following on from the public lecture on the life, work and musical connections of Einstein at 5.15pm, this recital combines the talents of violinist Jack Liebeck and pianist Ashley Wass. Jack Liebeck has established a reputation as one of Europe’s most exciting young musicians, performing both as a concerto soloist and chamber musician, and is Leader of the Fibonnacci Sequence chamber ensemble. Pianist Ashley Wass, a former World Piano Competition winner, was a BBC New Generation Artist and has a wide-ranging international career, performing with many of the world’s great orchestras and conductors, as well as 8 CDs of solo piano music to his credit.
Professor Brian Foster will introduce the concert with some brief words on Einstein’s musical life and views, which will be reflected in the programme of the recital. Einstein worshipped Mozart and himself played the Mozart Sonata which Jack and Ashley will perform. Einstein was also the first Chairman of the Ernest Bloch society, whose first sonata will also be performed tonight.
Tickets for the recital also gain free entry to the public lecture on Einstein at 5.15pm.
