City Halls : Recital Room
Please Note: This is a past event event.

Described as ‘a one-man transatlantic session’ by The Sunday Herald, Scottish American David Ferrard’s gentle style, crystal clear voice and artful songwriting make him one of Scotland’s up-and-coming singer-songwriters to watch out for. David’s heartfelt songs are a blend of the personal and political and have been interpreted by many artists including Roy Bailey and Michelle Burke (Cherish The Ladies).
This year David’s debut album, Broken Sky, was named Album Of The Week by BBC Radio Scotland, The Sunday Herald, and Celtic Music Radio. He won the Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Award in 2006 and the Burnsong songwriting competition in 2007.
David has played major festival stages, supporting musicians such as Richie Havens and Richard Thompson. His Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2008 show was described as “touching, hypnotic and inspiring: a new star of folk is on the rise” (Three Weeks).
