A rare opportunity to see this fabulous major orchestra in Scotland, providing a spectacular start to our International Classical Season and a concert which no classical music lover should miss!

The London Philharmonic Orchestra will be led this evening by highly acclaimed Russian conductor Gennadi Rozhdestvensky, known for having conducted many of the world’s greatest orchestras, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

Since 1964 the LPO has performed each summer in the pit at Glyndebourne Festival opera and tours extensively throughout the world. It has recorded soundtracks for blockbuster motion pictures including the Oscar-winning score for The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Throughout, the playing (five stars for the brass) was icily majestic; the final destination never out of sight. (The Times)

Soloist Jean-Yves Thibaudet is highly sought after for his versatility and artistic sensitivity. The former child prodigy is in the prime of his career, with more than 30 recordings to his name and is a recent winner of the French Victoire d’Honneur.
