One of the most popular of all great symphonies, Sibelius’s Fifth, forms the magnificent climax of this concert which begins on the storm-swept cliffs of Cornwall in Arnold Bax’s marvellous portrait of Tintagel Castle.

The distinguished French pianist Jean-Philippe Collard joins the orchestra for Mozart’s sunny, yet dramatic A major Concerto.

6:45pm Pre-concert prelude (in the Recital Room): Anthony Sayer and Stefan Solyom on music and storytelling.

Post-concert coda (approximately 10 minutes after main concert): Jean-Philippe Collard in a short solo recital of music by Ravel.

Tickets:  £23, £19, £16, £10
