A concert celebrating music, art and words inspired by images and reflections of Glasgow, its colourful history, and in particular the power and symbolism of the city’s vital artery, the River Clyde.
Without Glasgow, the world would never have known the name Aaron Copland; without the Clyde, Glasgow – UNESCO City of Music – would not have flourished. More than 250 musicians from a distinguished and historic school explore the highways and byways of a fascinating story, finding reflections and connections that will thrill and surprise you!
Guest contributors include novelist Alex Gray and the flautist, piper and composer, George McIlwham, both former pupils. The entire cast of choruses and massed orchestra will also come together for a new work Colours of the Clyde, specially written for the occasion by Ken Walton.
