“Magnificent”, “Splendid”, “Majestic” – so Handel’s contemporaries described his oratorio, not least because, for once, the words – by John Dryden – are the equal of his wonderful music.

270 years later it continues to delight. Richard Egarr, a hit with SCO audiences and players alike, returns to direct.
