Glasgow International Jazz Festival Lee Konitz Trio
Sunday 29th June 2008, 7.30pm
Old Fruitmarket
Please Note: This is a past event event.

Lee Konitz is best known as the originator of the "cool jazz" style, having struck out with his own style of alto saxophone playing that was unique in not following the precedents of Charlie Parker.
His work with Miles Davis on The Birth of Cool cemented this reputation, and led to his further work with Dave Brubeck, Charles Mingus and Gerry Mulligan.
This year sees the first visit to Scotland for Konitz since his sell-out concert in 1998.
With homegrown support from Tom Gibbs.
