Chinese Community Development Partnership with the Art Ensemble of the High School affiliated to Renmin University of Beijing (RDFZ)

The Chinese Community Development Partnership has privilege in obtaining assistance from the Chinese-Consulate in Edinburgh to invite a troupe of 42 students from Beijing, China to tour Scotland to showcase their talents to the Chinese community and the general public during Chinese New Year 2008.

The Renmin University of Beijing was established in April 1950 and is under direct leadership of China’s Ministry of Education. It is one of the First Batch of ‘Model Secondary Schools in Beijing. The performance group of the Affiliated High School to Renmin University is composed of a symphony orchestra, chorus and dancing team involving 200 talented students. The main performance group will be the dancing team, it has 30 students who have participated in a number of competitions and performances over last few years and won a number of awards, including first and second places at the Beijing City Art Festival and champion of the Bejing Students Dancing Competitions in September 2003 and April 2006. The school performance group has toured Hong Kong, France and Russia and won positive feedback and applaud.
