Late in his life Brahms struggled to break out of Beethoven’s shadow as a composer of symphonic works, yet he completed all four of his own symphonies within a decade. Here Roberto Minczuk conducts the glorious Second Symphony. This concert also features the welcome return of leading Scottish soprano Lisa Milne, who performs a selection of Strauss’ finest songs.
