JD Twitch & JG Wilkes established Optimo(Espacio) in November 1997. The name came from a song by Liquid Liquid which summed up how the core of the night should sound – raw, percussive, out there sleaze funk, and a return to the ideals of early 80’s New York, where lots of different scenes briefly collided into one of the most inspiring and creative moments in the history of art, music, and clubbing.
