BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra Thursday Night Series

City Halls : Grand Hall

Please Note: This is a past event event.

Don't worry we have plenty more current events to choose from.

At the onset of the 20th century, Debussy set harmony free with the sound of a flute and the sigh of voices, and Stravinsky liberated melody from the chains of stale tradition, thus opening up new realms of colour and sensation in music. This programme highlights them both.

We are delighted to welcome the BBC Singers to Scotland; showcased first by Debussy and then in Haydn’s Mass in C.

Pre-concert Prelude (free to ticket holders): An a cappella performance by the BBC Singers, directed by Stephen Betteridge.

(Please note the Prelude for this concert will start at 6.30pm).

Post-concert Coda (free to ticket holders): A short recital by the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama Chamber Choir.
