Stefan Solyom, the BBC SSO’s Associate Guest Conductor, conducts Beethoven’s ebullient 7th Symphony, described by Wagner as ‘the apotheosis of the dance’ – and BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Alina Ibragimova, fast establishing herself as one of the most impressive violin talents on the international stage, plays Shostakovich’s powerful and deeply emotional First Concerto.
