Schumann once wrote: “It is music’s lofty mission to shed light on the depths of the human heart” – an apt quote to reflect on while listening to these three lovely works, especially Schumann’s Fourth Symphony. Twelve years in the writing, it was also his last symphony.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Mozart’s youthful Sinfonia Concertante showcases his beloved viola in duet with the violin – the solos taken here by two of today’s brightest young stars.
