The SCO celebrates its passion for new music. Wilson’s last symphony is superbly written for the players of this Orchestra: it was commissioned for the SCO’s 25th birthday.

Elsewhere, Stravinsky goes back to Bach and H.K. Gruber adds bongos, electric guitar and cowbells for his nostalgic evocation of 1940s jazz bands.

Sally Beamish’s new piece features the virtuosic Raschèr Quartet who were such a hit last Season with their Philip Glass concerto performance.

6.30pm Pre-Concert Talk (free to ticket holders): Sally Beamish in conversation with Garry Walker.

Tickets:  £12
