Scottish Chamber Orchestra 2007/08 Season Handel's Theodora
City Halls : Grand Hall
Please Note: This is a past event event.
Don't worry we have plenty more current events to choose from.
Ten years ago few had heard of Theodora. It was one of Handel’s own favourite works, but fell into obscurity after his death, only to be resurrected in an acclaimed 1996 Glyndebourne Opera production.
Since then many of the world’s top artists have rediscovered it and taken it up. The drama is strong stuff: set in Diocletian’s Rome, it tells of love, sacrifice, brutality, murder and redemption.
