Olari Elts opens the Season with a sweeping survey of Sibelius’ music, marking the 50th anniversary of the great Finnish composer’s death.

The works come from every phase of his creative development, revealing his impressive range – atmospheric romanticism in the Swan of Tuonela, heroism in the Violin Concerto, the bitter-sweet Valse Triste (his best-selling piece during his lifetime) and the profound, exhilarating brilliance of his last symphony.

6.30pm Pre-Concert Talk (free to ticket holders): Roy McEwan talks about Sibelius.

Tickets:  £23, £19, £16, £10
