Thierry Fischer is welcomed back to the SCO to conduct a concert which contrasts the Old and New Viennese Schools. Berg’s Chamber Concerto, often described as a modern masterpiece, is performed by fantastic young soloists Dénes Várjon and Alexander Janiczek. The musical programme also includes 19-year-old Schubert’s ‘Tragic’ Symphony, which is full of drama, lyricism and pathos.
