Richard Egarr presides over a concert of two halves – first dance music and a symphony from France and then English views of the same forms, each illustrating its country’s strong national taste. Haydn provides some fine political mediation in the form of two symphonies, one written for Paris and one for London.

Richard Egarr: “no pokerfaced pedantry here, but interpretation engendered in and expressed through human emotions… a relaxed, sensual feel for phrasing and mood” Williamette Week
