Huun Huur Tu represent a remarkable musical culture know as throat-singing (xöömei), an other-worldly and hypnotic traditional culture from their home of Tuva, a small land nestled between Siberia and Mongolia. Comprising a lexicon of musical onomatopoeia in which natural sounds are transformed into musical representations, the resulting sounds are indescribable. They have collaborated with the likes of Frank Zappa, Ry Cooder and The Chieftains and have been listed in the “Ultimate Mojo albums”. You have to see it to believe it and we guarantee it is nothing like you’ve ever heard before. A must see gig for all World and Folk music fans.
