Dutilleux’s exquisite orchestration and glowing colours is sure to bring out the best in Stéphane Denève and the RSNO, experts in French repertoire. Rachmaninov’s Fourth Piano Concerto packs a punch with its rampant virtuosity and passion and will be played by seven times Grammy-nominated Leif Ove Andsnes. Stravinsky’s dazzling Firebird drives home to an intoxicating, powerful finish.
