Roberto Abbado conducts a classical concert with real Italian flavour. Mario Brunello plays Respighi’s beautiful, rhapsodic Adagio and Variations, followed by Hadyn’s joyful Concerto No1. Then Beethoven’s great Fifth Symphony: sublime, groundbreaking, organic and pure, it is a work that continues to transfix and transform all who hear it.

6:45pm Pre-concert talk with Jeremy Fletcher (RSNO Associate Principal Cello).
