Former Principal Condcutor, Alexander Lazarev returns with a programme that encompasses both opulence and virtuosity. Elgar’s noble Second Symphony is paired with Shostakovich’s Hamlet, one of the composer’s most powerful film scores, and the Second Violin Concerto, a work of heart-rending beauty and tenderness.
