Stéphane Denève’s lucid and spontaneous musicality is to the fore once more in Beethoven’s glorious Seventh Symphony. Canadian violinist Chantal Juillet, a consummate artist whose technical mastery equals her sensitivity and artistry, is soloist in Penderecki’s Second Violin Concerto, an enthralling work full of mystery, drama and intense beauty.
