Scotland’s musical party of the year – a riotous, sell-out evening of classics, anthems and saltire-waving patriotism. There might even be an appearance by the King of Rock and Roll…

Scottish tenor Nicky Spence graduated from the Guildhall School of Music along with a mega recording contract. He has worked with artists as diverse as Sir Simon Rattle, Bryn Terfel and John Rutter and has toured with Katherine Jenkins and Dame Shirley Bassey.

Highlights in this packed programme include…

John Williams – Summon the Heroes

Gershwin – Overture to Girl Crazy

John Adams – Tromba lontana / Short

John Adams – Ride in a Fast Machine

Britten – Folksong Selection

Plus… an ‘orchestra jam session’ featuring an eclectic selection of short works by Arthur Pryor, Leroy Anderson, Michael Daugherty and Meredith ‘The Music Man’ Willson!

And… a selection of tenor arias from Nicky Spence, including The Wee Cooper o’ Fife, Kishmul’s Galley and a Scots’ Song Medley.

Not forgetting… all the traditional Scottish encores, including Highland Cathedral, Phil Cunningham’s Cathcart, Highland Gathering, Auld Lang Syne, Eightsome Reels and your choice for Scotland’s national anthem, Flower of Scotland!
