Reich’s 70s masterpiece brings together skin, wood, metal and voices in music that has its roots in Africa, but its lifeblood in the urban rhythms of NYC. Currie’s band was created to perform it and they have the composer’s admiration. This is as good as it gets when it comes to this piece – don’t miss an hour of transporting excellence.
