Ahead of his concert this evening, enjoy a free pre-concert talk from world-renowned South-African trumpeter Hugh Masekela. Having spent his career pushing musical boundaries, he is one of jazz’s greatest horn players, able to adopt township jazz, funk and hip-hop into his music.
The talk will focus on his perspective on the interplay between his life, his music, and the turbulent history and struggles against slavery, apartheid and oppression in his home nation. Hugh will be in conversation with TV and radio presenter Hardeep Singh Kohli.
