Natalie Tsaldarakis, Michael Chant, Kerry Yong (pianists) and Lesley Larkum (violin)

The concert includes works from his last decade by British composer Cornelius Cardew (1936-1981) drawing on the socialist themes (”the people’s struggles”) and the popular and traditional tunes which inspired him. Programme includes his “Thälmann Variations”, “The Worker’s Song”, and “We Sing for the Future”.

The concert follows a symposium on Cardew’s work at Glasgow Caledonian University (see http://www.n-ism.org/CIM2011/programme.php)
