Join the BBC SSO for a summer’s night of theatrically inspired words and music!
Shakespeare’s irresistible comedy Much Ado About Nothing is the star attraction, in an abridged, semi-staged performance featuring incidental music by Eric Korngold, most famous for his scores to Errol Flynn’s swashbucklers Robin Hood and The Sea Hawk. The overture to Berlioz’s version of Much Ado raises the curtain and there’s a chance to hear rousing orchestral extracts from Humperdinck’s rarely performed Königskinder (The King’s Children), another fairy-tale opera from the composer of Hansel and Gretel.
Take your seats for a truly enchanting evening of glorious tunes, verbal fireworks and theatrical wonder.
