Minimal is part of the Glasgow Music 2011/2012 Season
In the dark, lie back, chill out and drift on the waves of Stockhausen’s STIMMUNG. Using ancient overtone singing techniques, six singers weave a fabulous texture of words poems, sounds…think sitar music and drones. It’s a child of its time, written in the wake of the Summer of Love. It is a piece to hear in the dark, at peace.
Please note that this is a Cushion Concert - a kind of hi-tech slumber party. You can bring a cushion with you, or there will be a limited number of bean bags and mats available to sit on. The stage will be situated in the middle of the Old Fruitmarket with the audience sitting on all sides around it on the floor.
