BBC SSO Listen Here! The Vaughan Williams Cycle Begins...

City Halls : Grand Hall

Please Note: This is a past event event.

Don't worry we have plenty more current events to choose from.

Vaughan Williams is often regarded as one of the most popular British composers, and his nine symphonies make up one of the most brilliant bodies of work of all time.

Andrew Manze and the BBC SSO begin an epic exploration of the complete symphonic cycle with the ‘London’ Symphony, a depiction of that bustling city by night and day, and there’s also the chance to hear the composer’s mystical, haunting Tallis Fantasia. And we hark back to a golden age of Light Music with Glasgow-born Iain Hamilton’s delightful and swinging Concerto for Jazz Trumpet.
